Griffin Schultz Commitment

Low and Away would like to congratulate Griffin Schultz (Manheim Township Junior Defense) on his verbal commitment to the United States Military Academy, West Point, NY.  While at Army, Griffin plans to study Pre-Med. Griffin is as versatile as they come playing the defensive position on the lacrosse field.  He faces off, pushes transitions, scores goals, and plays fantastic defense. Off the field Griffin excels in the classroom, participates in community service events, and competes with Manheim Township Wrestling Team.  Griffin is an outstanding student-athlete to represent his family, school, and lacrosse clubs at the United States Military Academy.

Personal highlights include:

*  First Team Lancaster Lebanon League (Sophomore)

*  2013 District III Champion

Other Schools Considered:

University of Pennsylvania

Hobart College

Boston University

Griffin’s thoughts about his commitment:

Throughout the recruiting process, I found many schools that fit me both academically and athletically. In the end, I felt West Point provided me with the greatest opportunity for my future as well as the chance to play lacrosse at the highest level. I will be able to receive a top notch education for free, play division 1 lacrosse, as well as have opportunities available to me that are simply not offered anywhere else in the world. While visiting West Point, I simply felt extremely comfortable with the school, the coaches, and the players. I feel my personality and goals are completely in line with the current players at Army and I am extremely excited to have made this decision. Army also provided me with the unique opportunity to play with my older brother, Austin, as well as multiple other players from the Lancaster area.
 I just wanted to say thank you to all my coaches, Coach Wimer, Coach Chris, and Coach Dave. Thank you for helping me improve as a player and getting me to where I am today, ready to compete at the highest level. I would also like to thank my parents for their support and patience throughout this process. I have enjoyed the opportunity to play with other players from this area and I have had a great time playing Low and Away and look forward to competing this fall and upcoming summer.

Our Thoughts:

We as a staff are very excited for Griffin and his opportunity to represent our nation at a military school.  While playing at Army Griffin will be joining his brother Austin, former Low and Away and Manheim Township player Ryan Morgan, and Hershey commit David Sickler.  His dedication and fundamentals for the sport will provide him an opportunity to represent himself well.

Again congratulations and all the best to Griffin Schultz a United States Military Academy defensive commit!
