Zach Ward Commitment

Low and Away would like to congratulate Zach Ward (Hempfield Junior Attack) on his verbal commitment to Cornell University, Ithaca, NY.  While at Cornell, Zach plans to study Sports Management with a minor in Business. Zach is an exceptional player that excels as an attackman.  His versatility of being a feeder, dodger and finisher makes Zach a very dangerous player on the field.  We know he will continue to work hard and focus on improving all aspects of his game!

Personal highlights include:

* Second Team, Lancaster-Lebanon League Selection 2013

* 2 x Baltimore Summer Kickoff All-Star

* Superior Honor Roll

* Founder of Footsouls

Zach’s thoughts about his commitment:

I am extremely excited and thankful for the opportunity to play at Cornell University. I really loved the school right when I got on campus. I felt really comfortable with Coach DeLuca and Coach Milliman on my visit. Cornell is the perfect fit for me academically and athletically, and they have a great chance at winning a national championship. I cannot wait to get up to Ithaca and compete.
I would also like to thank my parents and brother for always supporting me. I would not have gotten to where I am today without them. Secondly, I would like to thank everyone at Low and Away for getting me the exposure and for helping me improve as a player and person. I also want to thank Coach Kyle for helping me every step of the way in the recruiting process, for always being a strong believer in myself, and for talking with the college coaches on my behalf in a positive manner. He has always pushed me to improve as a player on and off the field. Thanks again to LA and I can’t wait for another fun and strong fall and summer season.

Our Thoughts:

As a coaching staff at Low and Away we are extremely happy for Zach and his decision to play Division I Lacrosse for the Big Red.  We believe Cornell to be a fantastic fit both for him athletically and academically.  His collegiate commitment is a testament his dedicated work on and off of the field!

We also wish Zach the best of luck as he will be traveling to West Africa this October in support of “Footsouls“, a foundation he created, to help those in need of footwear.  He raised awareness and donations throughout the summer and is still accepting donations!  If you have any new and gently used shoes/sneakers/cleats along with lacrosse sticks to share, the children of Sierra Leone, West Africa would greatly appreciate it!

If a current player, please bring donations to the either of the first two Practices or please contact us at info@lowandawaylacrosse.com for Zach’s information.

Again congratulations and all the best to Zach Ward, a Cornell University offensive commit!

Sincerely,

Staff of Low and Away
