Colin Strange Commitment

Low and Away would like to congratulate Colin Strange (Hempfield 2015 Midfielder) on his verbal commitment to Marquette University.  While at Marquette he plans to study business/economics.  Colin has done a fantastic job committing to improving as an individual.  His tenacity and hustle garnered him attention from college coaches all summer.

Personal highlights include:

- Baltimore Summer Kickoff All Star Game

- Lacrosserecruitsnews #5 player to watch

- Top 205 All-Star Game

- Big 4 Showcase All-Star

- While competing with Low and Away his Team finished with an impressive

15-3 win/loss record for the summer!

Colin’s take on his commitment:

“I’m really excited about the opportunity to attend Marquette University.  It has the perfect combination of great academics and big-time Division 1 Athletics. The prestige of the University stretches from coast to coast.  I believe Coach Amplo, Coach Orsen and the rest of the staff are all great guys, who will do amazing things with this program.  I wanted to be a part of starting the legacy of Marquette lacrosse. I considered some programs closer to home, but decided that the city of Milwaukee seems like an awesome place to spend 4 years of my life.  Being a part of the Big East will allow me to play several games close to family and friends.”

Our Thoughts:

As a coaching staff at Low and Away we are very pleased with Colin’s decision and impressive play through out the summer.  His collegiate commitment is a testament to his approach to the game, goal setting, and doing whatever it takes! His two-way midfielding ability allowed Colin to show his versatility on both ends of the field.  We wish Colin the best of luck as he looks to continue his lacrosse career.

Additional comments:

“I want to thank Kyle for teaching me the basics of the game when I was very young and to Coach Chris and all the Low and Away Coaches for helping me come into my own on the field to become a more dangerous player.  The exposure I received from being part of the Low & Away team was awesome. I also want to thank them both for explaining how to navigate through the recruiting process and for speaking with college coaches on my behalf.  I’m looking forward to playing with Low & Away again next summer and doing what I can to make an impact and help the program grow.”

Congratulations and best of Luck to Colin and your time with Marquette University!
