Years of experience has allowed Coach Pilat to run an impressive lacrosse program. I feel comfortable knowing I will be under his supervision and expertise.

I would like to thank Coach Kyle and Coach Chris for their patience, their time and their support. Kyle and Chris took extra measures in helping me simplify the recruiting process. Both coaches helped me improve my game through practices, one-on-one training and practical tips.  Next, I would like to thank my parents for helping me in the college search, supporting my decision in Roanoke and for pushing me to be the best I can be. Finally I would like to thank everyone at Low and Away for the past two years of Summer and Fall tournaments.

I am very excited to say I will be attending  Ursinus College next fall to play lacrosse . Ursinus was the perfect fit for me and I knew it as soon as I stepped on campus and meet with Head Coach Steele and Coach Page. I choose Ursinus not only because of being able to play lacrosse all 4 years but because of the great academics and high standards they have. With being in the Centennial Conference, it will challenge my playing but also will challenge me with my schooling.

I would also like to thank my parents and sister for their support and taking me to all the tournaments and college visits. Without them, I wouldn’t have this opportunity. Secondly, I would like to thank all the coaches who have helped me over the past two years. I would personally like to thank Coach Wimer and Coach Nicodemi for making me a better lacrosse player and getting me the exposure I needed. Specifically Coach Nicodemi for helping me with my skills so I would be able to play defense at the collegiate level. Lastly, I would like to thank all of my Low and Away friends for having such a great two years playing. Again, I would just like to thank anybody who made all this possible

We as a staff are very pleased about Connors decision to play with Ursinus College.  While playing for the Bears Connor will be joining Low and Away Coach Ryan Ridinger and several other local players!  His athletic ability and passion for the sport will provide him an opportunity to make an immediate impact for the Bears.

Cornell is the perfect fit for me academically and athletically, and they have a great chance at winning a national championship. I cannot wait to get up to Ithaca and compete.
I would also like to thank my parents and brother for always supporting me. I would not have gotten to where I am today without them. Secondly, I would like to thank everyone at Low and Away for getting me the exposure and for helping me improve as a player and person. I also want to thank Coach Kyle for helping me every step of the way in the recruiting process, for always being a strong believer in myself, and for talking with the college coaches on my behalf in a positive manner. He has always pushed me to improve as a player on and off the field. Thanks again to LA and I can’t wait for another fun and strong fall and summer season.

We also wish Zach the best of luck as he will be traveling to West Africa this October in support of “Footsouls“, a foundation he created, to help those in need of footwear.  He raised awareness and donations throughout the summer and is still accepting donations!  If you have any new and gently used shoes/sneakers/cleats along with lacrosse sticks to share, the children of Sierra Leone, West Africa would greatly appreciate it!

If a current player, please bring donations to the either of the first two Practices or please contact us at info@lowandawaylacrosse.com for Zach’s information.

Brendon Schrantz Commitment

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR COMMITMENT!

Low and Away would like to congratulate Brendon Schrantz (LCDS, Defenseman) on his college commitment to Ferrum College, Ferrum, VA.  Brendon who only started playing lacrosse in 9th grade has come a long way in High School career.  In only 4 years of playing Brendon accomplished his goal of being able to continue playing collegiate lacrosse!

Personal highlights include:

Competing with Low and Away Premier

Other Schools Considered:

Alvernia University

Wheeling Jesuit University

Brendons and family thoughts about his commitment:

“First and foremost, thank you to the Low and Away organization.  This entire experience has been like nothing I ever expected.  I have been afforded the opportunity to learn from coaches who articulate skill, passion and the development of the whole player.

The opportunity to play lacrosse and continue my education is my dream combination.  My parents and I made the 7 hour trip to the heartland of the Blue Ridge Parkway to visit Ferrum.  It was a gorgeous campus surrounded by rolling hills and had an ideal classroom setting with a low student to teacher ratio.    However, sitting down with Coaches Frey and Northern sealed the deal.  The coaches detailed that Ferrum has a young program with a clearly defined plan for growth and success.   The experience that Coaches Frey and Northern bring to the program and the emphasis of academic and athletic excellence allowed me to make the decision to attend Ferrum College.  I look forward to the future.” ~Brendon

“I can honestly say that through our children’s lives our money, energy, and time went into supporting them with swimming.  No big plan of ours was to play lacrosse, its how it worked out.

It wasn’t until Brendon was in 9th grade that he even heard of lacrosse…His first season with Low and Away he got a taste of the bigger picture.  He understood how the “big the pond”, world of lacrosse, was.  He told us he was going to play lacrosse at the collegiate level, and we told him to dream on because the fact was he had only played for a couple of years and we needed to be realistic.

When Coach McMahon called us over the summer and suggested Brendon play with Low and Away this fall because there were colleges interested in seeing him play, I was stunned.  I don’t want to say I didn’t believe in Brendon’s ability (because I am Brendon’s most supportive fan), but he had only been playing such a short time.  My direction to Brendon was that he was being afforded an opportunity, and he should see where it goes. And here he is, who would have known?! ” ~ Heather
Our Thoughts:

We as a staff are elated that Brendon has the opportunity to continue his education and follow his dream of playing collegiate lacrosse.  This past summer he dedicated himself to improving and worked his way on the the premier roster this fall.  He put in the time necessary and showcased his ability on the field.  It is great to see now that he has a fantastic opportunity presented to him at Ferrum College.

Again congratulations and all the best to Brendon Schrantz a Ferrum College defensive commit!

Sincerely,

Staff of Low and Away

The prestige of the University stretches from coast to coast.  I believe Coach Amplo, Coach Orsen and the rest of the staff are all great guys, who will do amazing things with this program.  I wanted to be a part of starting the legacy of Marquette lacrosse. I considered some programs closer to home, but decided that the city of Milwaukee seems like an awesome place to spend 4 years of my life.  Being a part of the Big East will allow me to play several games close to family and friends.”

Our Thoughts:

As a coaching staff at Low and Away we are very pleased with Colin’s decision and impressive play through out the summer.  His collegiate commitment is a testament to his approach to the game, goal setting, and doing whatever it takes! His two-way midfielding ability allowed Colin to show his versatility on both ends of the field.  We wish Colin the best of luck as he looks to continue his lacrosse career.

Additional comments:

“I want to thank Kyle for teaching me the basics of the game when I was very young and to Coach Chris and all the Low and Away Coaches for helping me come into my own on the field to become a more dangerous player.  The exposure I received from being part of the Low & Away team was awesome. I also want to thank them both for explaining how to navigate through the recruiting process and for speaking with college coaches on my behalf.  I’m looking forward to playing with Low & Away again next summer and doing what I can to make an impact and help the program grow.”

Nolan is an exception player that excels on the offensive and defensive side of the ball.  His offensive ability to score and push transition as a defenseman was big attraction to college coaches that watched him play.  We know he will continue to work and focus on improving all aspects of his game!

* TopLaxRecruits.com, Ten Players that shined at Champ Camp

* While competing with Low and Away his Team finished with an impressive

Nolan’s thoughts about his commitment:

“I am totally pumped to be going to Towson University. I’m kinda amazed at how it all started with our Low and Away Summer Kickoff Tournament, the game after we played the Clams. The team played so well. I remember Coach Nadelen (Towson Head coach) commenting on that specific game and how impressed he was with our play.

My dad and I visited Towson after Patriot Games Tournament. We visited with all the coaches privately along with their educational advisers. The program connects a great mix of academics with the D1 athletics, which made me feel very comfortable. We were looking for a program that didn’t overlook the defensive aspects of the game and we feel like we found a good one.”

Our Thoughts:

As a coaching staff at Low and Away we are extremely happy for Nolan and his decision to play Division I Lacrosse.  We believe Towson is a great fit for him.  His collegiate commitment is a testament to a steady improvement, listening to his coaches’ inputs, and doing whatever it takes! His stick work and footwork, combined with steady play got him the attention he hoped for.  Playing collegiate lacrosse for one of the games recent best defenseman will be a highlight in Nolan’s career.  We wish Nolan the best of luck as he works toward new lacrosse goals.

Additional comments:

“I want to thank Kyle and Chris for teaching me the different levels of the game. Coach Chris and all the Low and Away Coaches for helping me rise to the occasion and continue to improve.  The Low and Away exposure I received was the difference and I’m totally happy this happened. I also want to thank them both for helping my Dad navigate through the recruiting process and for stepping up and speaking with college coaches on my behalf.  I’m looking forward to playing with Low & Away again next summer and doing what I can to make to help the program continue it’s growth.”

Congratulations and all the best to Nolan Sachs, a Towson University defensive commit!
